5 Things to Prepare Before Your First Flight Training Session
Starting flight training is exciting, but a bit of preparation makes the first few sessions much smoother.
Get your paperwork in order. Medical certification, identification, and enrollment documents are easiest to sort out before your first day rather than during it.
Dress for the environment. Closed-toe shoes and comfortable clothing matter more than most students expect, especially for pre-flight inspections.
Review the basics. You don't need to know everything, but a quick read-through of fundamental aerodynamics and cockpit terminology helps the first briefing make more sense.
Get a good night's sleep. Ground school and simulator sessions both demand focus, and training days tend to be mentally tiring in a way that sneaks up on you.
Bring questions, not just notes. Instructors expect first-day questions, and asking early saves confusion later in the course.
